Case study
ATS Building Products website and trade app
ATS Building Products supplies timber and building products from five Australian warehouses. We built the Shopify store they sell from, and the ATS Building Products app that puts the same catalogue on a phone.
Client: ATS Building Products
Industry: Construction supply
Project: Shopify website, trade ecommerce, iOS and Android app
Overview
ATS Building Products is a national supplier of construction timber, engineered wood, formwork and related building products, with warehouses in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia. Trade customers needed a shop they could use the way they already buy: search a wide catalogue, apply for a trade account, and place orders without a phone call.
We designed and built atsbp.com on Shopify, then wrapped that same store as the ATS Building Products app on the App Store and Google Play.

Challenge
A supplier of this size cannot run a brochure site and a separate ordering process. Builders need to see what is in stock, send a cutting list, and log in to a trade account. The same experience has to work on a desktop in the office and on a phone on site.
The work was to put the catalogue, trade pricing and account tools in one place, then make that place available as a real app rather than a bookmark.
Solution
The website is a Shopify storefront structured around how ATS sells: construction timber, engineered wood, formwork and a wider range of building products, with search, collections and a trade account application. Delivery, warehouse locations and product support sit in the same system as the cart.

The mobile app is a trusted web app of that store, published on the App Store and Google Play, so a builder can order from site on the same catalogue, the same account and the same live stock they would see at atsbp.com.
A cutting-list order path, trade login and the national warehouse network are part of the same build, rather than add-ons bolted on later.
Result
ATS now has one digital shop for web and mobile. Customers can browse, request trade pricing and place orders from a browser or from the app, and the team has a single store to look after instead of a website and a separate mobile project.
